Cannon School artists invited to show work at the Mint Museum

November 14, 2012

From Belinda Armstrong, Director of Visual Arts and Dance at Cannon School:

Authentic partnerships often begin with a common mission or purpose, and that is just what Cannon School’s Visual Arts Department and the Mint Museum of Art share—the value of art and art education for young people.

Over the past eight years, we have cultivated our relationship with the Mint Museum, which has resulted in Cannon School being invited to show student art work in the Star Gallery at the Randolph Road location.

This weekend, we will celebrate fifty-three of our students whose art works were adjudicated for the exhibition, “Activating Creativity, Finding Voice,” at the new Star Gallery at the Mint Museum Uptown.

The opening reception for artists and friends will be held on Sunday, November 18, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the new Star Gallery on the mezzanine at the Mint Museum Uptown.

The reception is in conjunction with the museum’s public event, Sunday Fun Day, an interactive workshop for youth and adults.
